I always thought Alanis could’ve done so much more for her “Ironic” video.  When we had to create a video using pictures last year, I had the opportunity to show the video how I interpreted this very true song.

I made this about a year ago as a personal reflection for one of my grad courses.

Enjoy!

Fall Photoshoot

Last week, Joan, my photography instructor, gave our class instructions for a homework assignment.  It was to choose nine great photos that we took with the camera set to TV mode.  TV (shutter speed priority) mode is when you select the shutter speed and the camera selects the appropriate aperture.  Aperture is how much light is being allowed into the lens.  The lower the aperture the more light is being allowed into the lens.

I wanted to really test this out so I walked through my favorite park, Nomahegan Park, and took pictures while I walked for two miles.  Below you will see all my pictures.  A number is beneath every picture.  If you like a certain picture, please comment so that I know to include that in my nine pictures for homework.

There’s a thunder and lightning storm going on… so I took this opportunity to test out the camera again.  I wasn’t sure if it could really capture a lightning bolt - but it did nicely!

My homework for the first week of photography class was to take multiple pictures of a still life from a tripod. I started with the highest f-stop.  Then with each picture I lowered it one level. Each time I lowered the f-stop, I upped the shutter speed.  The ISO was auto the whole time.  I’m only posting one picture because it looks like all the pictures are the same.  On the camera, you can see a slight difference, but when I look at them on my laptop, they all look similar except with a tiiiiny bit of light change.  According to Joan, my instructor, the main difference is the depth of field.  We’re going to discuss depth of field in my next class, so I’ll know more about that soon!
